ten good things about my father:

1. he was born in belfast
2. he was a catholic and a staunch irish republican
3. i learnt how to deal with people from him.
4. he was incredibly practical and could build and fix things really well
5. he taught my sister how to drive (but not me) and that's why she's a much better driver than i am
6. he liked guinness
7. if he was interetsed in something, he got REALLY interested in it, but usually only for a really short time
8. he liked to read big blockbuster novels (like james clavell) over and over again
9. his favourite food was chicken vindaloo
10. he would've been 66 today
